Leiana Naholowa'a

Naholowa'a Consulting d.b.a. Pen Empower was created by Leiana Naholowa'a as a freelance business whose mission is to support individuals, businesses and nonprofits achieve success through the power of design and the power of writing. As a dynamic, detail-oriented writer with over ten years experience for a wide range of audiences in academic, media, corporate, nonprofit and engineering environments, Leiana is committed to the clear communication of knowledge and ideas. She is a skilled layout and design specialist with artistic sensibilities and is an experienced editor and proofreader. A former researcher and university instructor of English writing and communication, Leiana is accustomed to working independently on various projects at a time. She is also committed to building relationships of trust across disciplines, industries, and project teams.

Leiana is a native of Guam and has a background in writing, editing and publishing. She received her BA in Literature and Writing Studies from Cal State San Marcos and is currently studying graphic design in its many forms through an Interactive Media Certificate Program. An activist at heart, she spends much of her free time volunteering for nonprofit organizations in the San Diego and Pacific Island communities.
